Ashley graduated from Pittsburg State University in 2012 and earned a bachelors degree in Early Childhood Education and Psychology. While studying to work with children, she also participated in several performances put on by her college.

Ashley has been a part of our ShiningStars team for over a year. Now she adds the title of Director of ShiningStars KC Prior to ShiningStars Ashley worked in our main office with our sister program HappyFeet. Not only does she have multiple years of experience being a soccer coach for 2-5 year olds, she also coaches multiple premier soccer teams for the KC Legends soccer club ages 8-14.
Ashley is a energetic teacher who is committed to instilling her students with confidence and appreciation of the own unique qualities. She has a passion for helping children stay connected to their emotions and encouraging them to believe in themselves through positive reinforcement and a loving and nurturing style of coaching.
ShiningStars Coach : Sasha Ferguson
Having participated in musicals and theatre classes since the age of 14, Sasha has grown up with a love for the performing arts. She loves theatre so much, in fact, that she's now teaching and assistant directing with a local theatre company. A first-year student at Longview College, Sasha is pursuing a degree in Theatre Education, with plans of becoming a high school musical theatre teacher. With over 7 years of babysitting, camp counseling and teaching experience, Sasha is passionate about working with children of all ages and helping them grow and shine!
ShiningStars Coach : JoAnn Figueroa
Throughout the years, as a volunteer coach JoAnn has managed and coached elementary school age volleyball teams and softball teams. She had been a volunteer at Children's Mercy Hospital in Kansas City. More recently since retiring, As well as teaching ShiningStars classes to children ages 2-15, JoAnn also instructs tennis classes for children 12 and under. JoAnn loves working with children because they make her laugh and are fun to be around. In ShiningStars, she finds it most rewarding to see the more reserved kids come out of their shells when participating in front of the class. JoAnn is married and has two active grandchildren, ages 7 and 9.

Raised iKim is the bookkeeper for Happyfeet Kansas City, SuperClubs, and the Kansas City Legends Soccer Club. Kim brings a wealth of experience to the orginization and her professional and caring approach and eye for detail make her a perfect fit for this position. In her spare time, Kim and her husband Tim are usually found at the soccer fields watching their three children Liam, Moira and Aiden.
